The idea
Nirgun means “without form.” These are quiet, meditative performances—poems of the Nameless offered plainly, one voice and one guitar. Music to listen to and sit with.
Nirgun bhakti sings of the Divine beyond name and form. Kabir, Bulleh Shah, and Nanak kept pointing to that place where form dissolves, name dissolves, and only presence remains.
Each verse is given room to breathe and settle into stillness. This is a listening practice rather than a program to sing along to—unhurried, intimate, and direct.

Nandakumar
Nayar.
Nandakumar came to this music by a long road—years of Vipassana, then shaktipath from Sri Amritananda Natha of Devipuram. Music ran alongside it all: Carnatic as a child, guitar ever since. A composer, singer, arranger, and music educator, he now sets the poems of the Nameless to unhurried melodies that let each verse breathe and settle into stillness.
